Indian English poet Sonnet Mondal has been invited to carry out at the twenty-ninth version of the Genoa International Poetry Festival, Italy, to be held from June ninth to June nineteenth this 12 months. One of India’s most travelled poets of the modern period, Sonnet has been invited to a number of poetry and literature festivals, together with Struga Poetry Evenings in Macedonia, the Cork International Poetry Festival in Ireland, the Berlin International Poetry Festival in Germany, and the Istanbul International Poetry Festival, amongst others. He led the Indian delegation to the Ars Poetica Festival in Slovakia in 2016, the identical 12 months he was awarded the Gyatri Gamarsh Memorial Award for literary excellence. Our cultural theory is shaped by what is written as poetry, and our cultural theory is what convinces future generations that we exist and that it is significant. Such is poetry’s significance.”
