Israeli soldiers filmed toying with lingerie at Gaza properties, sparks outrage


Several photographs and movies of Israeli soldiers enjoying and posing with lingerie present in deserted Palestinian properties in Gaza have surfaced on social media, triggering world outrage.

A video doing the rounds on social media reveals a grinning Israeli soldier sitting in an armchair in a room with a gun in a single hand. He is seen dangling a white lady’s underwear from the opposite hand over the open mouth of a person mendacity on a settee, information company Reuters reported.

In one other visible, a soldier is seen sitting atop a faucet holding a feminine model wearing a black bra and helmet and heard saying, “I found a beautiful wife, serious relationship in Gaza, great woman.”

The lingerie and model photos and movies, verified by Reuters, have been considered tens of 1000’s of instances after being reposted by Younis Tirawi, a Palestinian reporter.

One picture reveals a soldier posing with his gun and making a thumbs-up gesture, in entrance of a mattress strewn with packets of ladies’s underwear.

Another one reveals a soldier holding a naked feminine model from behind with his fingers on its breasts and one other soldier fondling a half-naked doll.

UN Human Rights Office spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani stated such photos and movies of Israeli soldiers’ actions had been “demeaning to Palestinian women and all women”.

“The posting of such images is demeaning to Palestinian women, and all women,” she was quoted by Reuters as saying.

In response, an Israel Defence Forces (IDF) spokesperson stated the army expects soldiers to comply with orders and values, and probe incidents of those that deviate from the principles and movies and photographs uploaded on social media.

“In cases where suspicion of a criminal offence arises that justifies opening an investigation, an investigation is opened by the military police,” it stated in an announcement.

“It should be clarified that in some of the examined cases, it is concluded that the expression or behaviour of the soldiers in the video is inappropriate, and it is handled accordingly,” the assertion added.

However, the IDF didn’t specify whether or not it was referring to the viral photos and photographs of Israeli soldiers or whether or not any motion had been taken in opposition to the troops.
